Perfect Beach for Swimming, Snorkeling, & Diving

Playa Chileno is easily accessible from Hwy #1, southwest of Hotel Cabo San Lucas. Look for the dive flag at the edge of the highway at Km. 14, which marks the parking entrance. Playa Chileno is great for families and is known for excellent snorkeling and diving. For the kids, there are tide pools at the east end of the beach. The beach can get pretty crowded on the weekends, especially Sundays, however, it's not too congested on weekdays.

Chileno Beach is wide, fairly flat, perfect for a walk or run along the beach, or sunning and swimming. There are restrooms, and a palm grove for shade from the hot sun. Chileno receives snorkel tours around midday, so if you're looking for more privacy-head northeast toward the Hotel Cabo San Lucas or south around the bend.

Rocky reefs run parallel to the beach with tropical fish, sea turtles, moray eels, invertebrates, sea urchins, gorgonians, sponges, and starfish. Great place for snorkeling-we even took my boyfriend's young neices & nephew out to see a bunch of "Dori fish".

Tips:
*Although the swimming area is kept pretty clear, jellyfish have been seen in this area, so watch for them while swimming, and bring along some vinegar just in case.
*There are no lifeguards on duty, so don't swim alone as no big lifeguard hunk wearing a red Speedo is going to come to your rescue.
*One won?t find a convenience store on every corner here, so remember to bring lots of sunblock, sunglasses, water, snacks, bathroom tissue, camera as well as a beach umbrella, snorkeling gear, sand toys, etc. And don?t forget a bag to carry your trash out in.
